AFTER NUMBERS
The number that comes immediately after a number in the number system is called the after number. In other words, the number which follows a number is called the after number. Let us see some examples.
In the box above, the numbers written in green are the after numbers for the numbers written in red.
Combination of one digit numbers added to get a total of 10
1 + 9 = 9 + 1 = 10
2 + 8 = 8 + 2 = 10
3 + 7 = 7 + 3 = 10
4 + 6 = 6 + 4 = 10
5 + 5 = 10
10 which consists of two digits is the number that follows the greatest one digit number 9.
Two digit number consists of ones and tens.
Two digit numbers start from 10 and end with 99.
10 is the smallest two digit number.
99 is the greatest two digit number.
Addition of two digit numbers
25 + 2 = 27
41 + 10 = 51
45 + 12 = 57
36 + 20 = 56
54 + 44 = 98
In all the above sums, the ones place of the two numbers are added first. On adding, we once again get a single digit number. It is written as the ones place of the result,
Following this, we add the tens place of the two numbers. Here again we get a single digit number and that is written in the tens place of the result.
The result is a two digit number in all the above sums.
